Deal Hot: Wyndham Resort In Dominican Republic Went Up In Flames – 1,700 Evacuated & One Dead
Viva Dominicus Beach by Wyndham, A Trademark All-Inclusive resort, went up in flames in the Dominican Republic on Friday, with 1,700 people evacuated and one casualty, an Italian woman.

It seems that based on the video from the area that the entire resort basically burned down, nothing left but cement structures.
The guests were moved to a nearby Wyndham-affiliated hotel that was not affected by this fire.

The first report I saw was a fire in one building at the resort. The speed it spread to become this is frightening… pic.twitter.com/uhdZ4XqtgK

Wyndham issued the following statement to the BBC:
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which franchises about 8,400 hotels around the world, said in a short statement to the BBC that while “hotel teams safely evacuated guests and staff,” one guest died.
“We send our thoughts to the family while we await autopsy results to determine the cause,” it said.
It said the hotel, which is independently owned and operated, is closed and will remain so until further notice.
Conclusion
There is always the question of how well these resorts are built and maintained to ensure that disasters like this wouldn’t happen.
It is quite remarkable that only one is dead after this huge blaze that essentially destroyed the entire resort.
Looking at the images, you cannot come to any other conclusion than that they need to rebuild the entire resort from scratch.
